The people’s engine returns!

We’re thrilled to announce the visit of the magnificent LNER Class A3 60103 “Flying Scotsman” to the East Lancashire Railway.

This record-breaking engine is making a long anticipated return to our line, so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to see the People’s Engine up close.

Since the iconic locomotive entered service back in 1923 it has been a truly remarkable roller coaster adventure of highs and lows, with record breaking milestones and survival of the ‘Beeching closures’ of the late 60-70’s. Restored on-site at the East Lancs Railway’s Baron Street site, she has been a welcome visitor on our line several times in the years since.
